Some women have to go to extreme lengths in order to find makeup that best suits their needs. Whether it’s foundations, concealers, or setting powders, most women will go through hundreds of brands throughout their lives in search of the ones that help them achieve the perfect look. When talking about setting powders, a good one is always a powder that hides spots, minimizes lines and creates an overall flawless finish.
Setting powder is a godsend. It locks in foundation and concealer so that there are no cracks or ripples on your cheeks. Wearing it makes your makeup experience 100 % better.
If you’re looking for the best translucent powder, here are a few of my favorite shimmering and mattifying powders to keep you glowy. Read my reviews before buying a new setting powder.
MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
The Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Loose Powder gives a silky finish and is transparent in color so never looks cakey or affects foundation. It is one of the Mac products that doesn’t disappoint me.
I live in a very windy city with harsh weather conditions that usually wreck my makeup immediately as I step out of my building. This powder, however, stays where it should throughout the walk to/ whole day at the office. It gives my face a nice blurred finish evening out the skin tone almost like a portable instafilter. I’ve noticed that my skin looks much better in photos with this stuff too, more even and glowy.
This stuff cuts my oiliness down by about 80% and my makeup isn’t a total mess at the end of a working day. I suggest you use MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder if you have oily skin. Clinique Blended Face Powder
This is a great setting powder. It’s finely milled, lightweight and the color Invisible Blend is truly invisible. It does not alter the color or add any additional coverage to my foundation. I have oily skin and use a heavy hand to set my foundation but this powder never looks cakey. I really bake this on with a powder puff and dust off the excess and it guarantees to keep my oily skin matte all day. I’ve tried a lot and nothing beats this. No need for blotting throughout the day. Fantastic product.
I’m very impressed with this face powder and if you have oily skin this is perfect for you. I have an oily t-zone and this helps keep the shine away. My makeup lasts longer than ever.
Loose Setting Translucent Powder – Laura Mercier
Thanks to its high-quality French ‘Cashmere’ Talc contents, the Loose Setting Translucent Powder by Laura Mercier creates a natural yet not cakey or powdery setting for prolonged wear. It is an oil-free powder formulated to provide a translucent shade that will last you throughout the day.
I should also mention that this powder is perfect for all women with oily skin type and the fact that it has no fragrance is a definite plus. This powder is definitely something you need in your make up routine.
I know that this product it is a little bit expensive for most of us, but it is worth it all the money. Also, I like that the brand offers us the chance to try free samples, before buying the product. The brand is constantly offering free samples, as well as travel-size products. All you need to do is to know when to apply for them.
Setting powder is an essential step in anyone’s makeup routine—not only does it stop you from looking (and feeling) like a greasy slice of pizza, it also seals your makeup and provides a smooth surface on which to apply products like blush, bronzer, highlighter and eyeshadow.
Translucent powder is the one beauty product that is often forgotten but is most needed for a flawless face.
I hope all these things will help you and I am waiting for your feedback if you have suggestions.
