Every woman has a makeup product that she won’t leave home without applying — mine is blush. If you’re anything like me, you know adding a hint of color to the apples of your cheeks can keep you looking fresh-faced all day. However, many women use the first pink shade they can find. The truth is, like all other makeup, there is an art in choosing the best blush shade for your skin.
When applied to the skin, blush is meant to look natural and healthy. Too much can make you look clownish and too little can wash you out. If you are on a mission to finding the perfect blush, then knowing your skin tone is step one. To help you out, I am going to break this down into 3 groups: fair skin, medium skin and dark skin.
But, first, don’t forget that your look is very important if you what to be stylish. So, choose the right clothes for your body, and opt for jewellery that has a unique design.

And now, I’ll let you find some tricks that will help you to choose the right blush for your skin tone:
Fair skin tone
A soft pink, peach or light coral will enhance your porcelain skin just right. The key is a light application. Too much product, or the use of saturated hues, will create an ugly finish. A light pink to peach color like MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush would be good options for that naturally flushed look.
Also, for my point of view, this is a great color, especially for summer. If you love a pinky/peach blush, this one is awesome. It’s light, a little shimmer, and gives a nice glow. The shimmer shows up on the face subtly, giving off a nice glow rather than making your face glittery. If you have fair skin tone, MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush it is what you need.
Medium skin tone
Similar to your fair skinned friends, pinks and peaches are great for our skin tone. You’ll want to take these colors a step further by applying a deeper shade of each. A vibrant pink, and even certain shades of mauve, will leave you with a dramatic edge–especially when you apply blush on all the right spots.
A good example would be the MaryKay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush. MAC blush in Peaches would also achieve a natural flush to your cheeks if you are medium skin toned.
Dark skin tone
Deep shades of red, orange and brown are the ideal blush colors for those with dark skin. These colors, unlike light powder pinks, will leave you looking radiant. Try a fuchsia (think dark radiant orchid) if your skin tone tends to be warmer; a bold tangerine if it is cooler. If you have a dark skin tone, the Sleek blush palette in Pink Sprint has all the blush colors you need.
For many women, picking the right blush color may be one of the biggest challenges when it comes to makeup. With so many gorgeous shades to choose from, finding the right blush can seem like an impossible task. But, don’t forget that if you know your skin color, it is not impossible to find perfect blush shade for you. I hope this guide it is helpful for you, and if you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
